Castello Camemi

Castello Camemi rises from volcanic rock near Butera in south-central Sicily, its 12th-century foundation visible in the tower's lowest courses. Subsequent renovations added Renaissance arcading and Baroque stone details, layering four centuries of architectural styles into a cohesive whole. The castle's interior salons feature hand-painted ceiling frescoes depicting local saints and allegories, while the grounds encompass vineyards terraced into the surrounding slopes. Receptions for up to 100 guests spill from the castle's main hall onto a stone piazza bordered by ancient olive trees.
