Wedding in
Costa del Sol
Pick a venue first. Photographers, planners, florists slot around it. We do the shortlisting for you.
The Costa del Sol is not subtle. The sun shines 320 days a year, the Mediterranean temperature climbs into the 30s regularly, and the coast is lined with developments that range from architectural atrocities to surprising hotels built by people who cared. Beyond the tourist strip, the white villages (pueblos blancos) climb into Andalusian hills and feel like they've been there since medieval times.
Weddings work May through June and September through October when it's hot but not murderous. July and August are burningly, relentlessly hot. The restaurants are excellent and inexpensive. The beaches are sandy and broad. The nearby mountains (Ronda perches impossibly above gorges) offer drama. The water is warm enough for a post-ceremony paddle. The sunsets over the Mediterranean are photographically documented too often to be believable, yet somehow still arrest people mid-sentence.
